My wife was admitted to the hospital at 3.35am on 21 July 2007. After preliminary checked up, we were sent to the ward to wait for delivery. After a long day waiting (almost 24 hours), ultimately our daughter was SAFELY born at 3.20am the next day (22 July 2007).

We were and are still so so happy and excited… in deed, no word could describe our joyfulness and gratefulness…We praise our God to take care of the whole pregnancy and delivery process. The whole process made me think of a beautiful verse: “…Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there; the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” [quoted from Bible – JOB 1:20].

This is Heidi, Xinyi’s kaima (God mother). She had been praying for Xinyi when Xinyi was still in the womb. We really appreciate her loves towards Xinyi and us. Heidi was the 1st one to visit us early in the morning at 8.30am with her nutritious chicken abelon soup. Sometime, I feel that she is more excited then we are…she even had bought a smart and pretty stroller for Xinyi few days before the birth. We are really glad that Xinyi has such a caring and loving kaima.

During the same day, my mother, sisters & brothers in law, David & Annie, Kee Sern & family, Elder Gan, Elder Lee & family, Vicky, Danny & family, sister Hui Ping & her daughter, Jocye had visited us too. Their visit made us felt that we are all in the family of Christ. We felt so warm.

If you want to know what happened on the 2nd day and why I named her Xinyi, please subscribe to my blog so that update can be e-mailed to you…if not then just stay tune…

    Mr Someone,

Thanks for your post again. Sorry for late reply as I am away to Kluang. My wife is having confinement there.

Come back to your question, well I think “satisfaction”, “joyfulness” and “gratefulness” are the most accurate and common words to describe the feeling of every new father. To me personally, this 3 words are much more meaningful, especially the last word.

In fact, the whole delivery process is “full of anxiety but no danger”. We were so anxious during the 24 hours of long waiting. We planned to have natural birth initially but the baby must be OUT within 24 hours from the time we admitted to hospital. However, at the 23th hour we decided not to take the risk. We have an emergency cesarean at the end.

My church members were praying hard for us to support us. I really thank God for the SAFE delivery.

On another hand, I feel that my heart is linked so closely with my baby, whenever she feels uneasy or cry, my heart feels the same too. I guess this is called “fatherenphobia syndrome”. Any new father has this syndome too? ha! ha!

Once I am back to KL I will post more pictures of her.

Hi Suat Ting, thanks for your post. I named her Xinyi was because “Yu” will be pronounced as “U” in Malay as well as in English. Therefore, I took the closest one i.e.”Yi”.
