The KL Bar IT Committee again organises a good forum for internet users. The details are as below:
According to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2006, 1 of every 8 American had their identity ’stolen’ on the Net. Someone pretending to be you using your name on the Net can do much damage to you.
This problem is so serious in US, that almost every state in US have laws specifically governing this. See link:-

The KL Bar Information Technology Committee have been reviewing this area of law for a while now and will host a FORUM on this issue on the 20th November 2008. We are concerned that this problem will soon be a major problem in here.
