This month (December) will be a very busy month for me. Apart from traveling to my home town and my wife’s home town, I will also need to prepare for 2 talks.
The 1st was a talk organised by the MCA ICT Resource Center (MRIC) at Wisma MCA on 4 December 2008. It was a woman SME seminar aim to provide the insight and information to those woman who wants to start their ICT business and I was one of the guest speakers in the session of “Coffee Talk with Entrepreneurs – How to start a business”.
“(from left) Ms Chong Sheau Cheng of eHomeMakers.net, Ms Alice Foong of MRIC, Mr Chew Man Fai of Emerge Systems and me”
Alice was the moderator and we were posted with the below questions:
1) What make you become an entrepreneur? How do you start that?
2) What are the challenges that you encounter in the entrepreneurship journey?
3) What are tips you would like to share with our delegates about how to become an entrepreneur?
Even though the above questions seem personal and need no much of preparation but I still choose to pen my thoughts down on a paper, so that I am sure that my thought can be shared systematically and my audience won’t miss any of my points.
Just to also share with you, in case, you were not there. The main tip for someone (with no strong financial background) to start an online business, your services/product must target at the niche market. This is because websites are so easy to set up now a day and if you are selling something ”general”, I may afraid you will be facing millions competitors, which also causes the internet users to have great difficulty in finding you via the search engine.
On another note, my 2nd talk will be scheduled on 16-17 December at Grand Millennium Hotel KL, in which I am invited as a speakers in a Legal Technology Conference organised by the Asia Business Forum.
For those who want to attend this conference, please contact Anitha at 03-2070 3299 and tell her that you are referred by Eddie Law of eLawyer so that you will be entitled to 10% discount on the registration fees.
