Xinyi is 2 Years Old Now

July 26th, 2009 · 5 Comments

God is so mercy to us. My baby girl is 2 years old on 22 July 2009.

As a father, looking at her from the 1st day till now, my heart fills with grateful and praise.

I praise and thank my God for keeping Xinyi safe and healthy for the past 2 years. I never take good things for granted in my life.

Like last year, we have 2 birthday celebrations again, namely at the church and at home.

Celebration At Church (19 July 2009)

In fact, since I have blogged about Xinyi’s 1 year old birthday, I have received many emails from my readers asking me where to get the pretty jelly cake. However, this year we decided to go for non jelly cake with the most favourite cartoon feature of Xinyi, which is her Rabbit Doll.

The shape of the cake is customised to resemble the Rabbit Doll that Xinyi always hold with her almost everyday and everywhere she goes.

“The Chinese words on the cake means Thanks God Law Xinyi Is 2 Years Old!”

“My wife, Xinyi & I and Red Eggs”

“There were about 30 children celebrating with Xinyi in the church”

In order to implant the christianity teaching of sharing and caring in Xinyi. We prepared gifts to be shared and given away to other kids who have attended the birthday party.

Celebration At Home (22 July 2009)

With the request of Xinyi, we chose a tiramisu cake with her another favourite cartoon feature – Pikachu on it.

On the exact date, 22 July 2009, we celebrated with some of my wife’s art class students from home.

I am so happy that my mother came to celebrate with us this time round.

“Xinyi and her grand mother”

My mother bought several clothes, a pair of sheo and a smart and cute looking bicycle for Xinyi.

Heidi, Xinyi’s god-mother bought several pretty clothes from Hong Kong and get her friends to bring to us.

Of course, she also got ang pow from my sister and a church elder.

After Thought

1. My wife and I regard birthday celebration for our child as a important thing in our life as this helps us to remember the mercy of our God in taking care of our family and also helps us to count the blessing in our life.

2. If you look closely on Xinyi’s face, you will find there was a bloody and injured mark on her nose. In fact, it was my neglegent fault that caused her to fall down from her bicycle on the road just few hours before the 22 July celebration.

She was bleeding and crying on-stop for hours. This was the 1st time I saw her bleeding, my heart felt so….Thanks God that there wasn’t any car on the road, otherwise, my second of distraction may turn a celebration into tragedy. However, thanks God again that no injury was casued at other part of the body at all (It was a miracle). Her nose now is recovering. I swear to myself that my eye will never leave her in any split of second from now onward. I am sorry Xinyi.

Experiencing this accident made me felt even more grateful when celebrating her 2 years old birthday.

Happy Birthday Xinyi.
